Ever since I was a little girl I have loved dogs. I loved Lassie and kept asking Mum and Dad for a "Lassie dog" and when I was about 6 years old my dream came true and I had my own Rough Collie called Duke. All of my family have owned dogs so I have been around lots of different breeds including Dachshunds, Yorkshire Terriers, Poodles, Border Collies, German Shepherds, Setters and Labradors.

I started Mad About Dog in July 2017 working from a salon at home, but in October 2020 moved into new premises at Marlpit Farm in Boughton Monchelsea. This allowed for more space to work alongside other groomers, invest in equipment needed to groom large dogs and of course, have some company. The other independent groomers in the salon are Lauren (Grooming by Lauren), Chelsie (Scruffcuts) and Faye (Sapphire Grooming).

Our salon was designed and built by my husband Tony and I to offer a professional dog grooming experience for both you and your dog. The refurbishment work was completed during the Lockdown days, so it was a great way to keep my family busy and have something positive to focus on.

​

On the farm we are located at Unit 16 (a farm shop used to be on site), parking is easy and the salon is open plan so you can see us with working with the dogs. We have a large electric bath which is great for big dogs and we train most dogs to get in and out of the bath on their own accord. We use one of the best shampoos on the market, our ethos is not only they look good but they feel and smell good too plus it lasts! There is a retail area (which is still working progress but we have quite a few bits in now) and we are on hand to offer advice on grooming, diet, health and behaviour.

I am fully qualified to City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma and trained with a national and international award winning dog groomer. I have attended dog psychology courses, regularly attend dog grooming seminars and daily read, listen to podcasts and watch videos about dogs, grooming and behaviour.
